There are many difficult additional rules of shogi about draw positions. You do not need to worry too much about them for now, if you find them complicated.

• Repetition of the position 4 times in a draw (called repetition), but if that repetition is all checks, it is lose of the attacking side (infinite checks are illegal).
• Position where a player cannot make a legal move (in chess called stalemate) in shogi ends in loss of the side without a move.
• There are special rules for ‘entering king’, but it almost never happen in beginners games, so you can learn them much later.
